Objective:
Ensuring proper and on time performance of qualitative and quantitative testing procedures through physico-chemical methods as per pharmacopoeia standards
Scope of Services:
The Medicines Physic-o-Chemical Testing Specialist will support the Quality Control Lab (QCL) Medicines Physic-o-chemistry unit for the performing of qualitative and quantitative testing as per pharmacopoeia standards, considering their defined limits
Deliverables:
Proper documentation and recording system is in place
All physic-o-chemical testing activities adhere to related SOPs
Increase the number of new tests on medicine and healthcare products which comply with the international best practice.
All under use equipment are in proper situation in terms of cleanliness, qualification and calibration.
ISO 17025 accreditation is achieved.
The test methods are valid and are in accordance with the international best practice
Responsibilities:
Provide support for ensuring the suitability of received samples for physico-chemical testing
Coaching and mentoring of staff in proper equipment handling & using of new physico- chemical testing methods
Provide support to QCL Director for initiating changes to QC technical process & QCL setups.
Fulfil the quality control analysis on medicine and healthcare products when required.
Develop and apply proper SOPs for the testing of medicine and healthcare products according to the international best practices.
Assist in the preparation & standardization of reagents & required solutions.
Implement the developed SOPs in the physico-chemical department.
Support on proper documentation and recording systems.
Provide technical assistance and cooperate in the proper cleaning, calibration and maintenance of equipment and used lab wares
Ensure from the accuracy of the issued test result certificates through validation mechanisms.
Provide technical assistance in achievement of the ISO 17025 accreditation.
Apply biosafety & biosecurity measures as needed for the QCL
Provide regular or ad hoc plan or report as requested by Head of Medicines Physic-o-chemical Department
Perform any other task if required by Head of Medicines Physic-o-chemical unit or the QCL director
Bachelor degree in pharmacy, master degree in related field is preferable.
At least three years’ work experience with government or Non-Governmental Organization or UN agencies in the field of Laboratory, supply chain management or quality assurance of pharmaceuticals. Working experience in physico- chemical quality control laboratory of medicine and healthcare products is highly preferred.
Familiarity with the MoPH policies especially pharmaceutical policies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language and fluent in a local language;
Having computer skills of MS programs.
