About Chemonics International ATAR project

Job Summary

ATAR is seeking outgoing, energetic, self-motivated and outcome-oriented individuals to help the ATAR legal team to support WTO legislation particularly laws related to trademark and patent. The ACBR interns will primarily support the ACBR Directorate on trademark and patent in using the IT application and software knowledge. ACBR interns will also help the ACBR Directorate in filing and archiving the documents and files. ACBR interns will also participate in relevant trainings, workshops and meetings.
III. REPORTING: This position reports to the Regional Trade Integration Manager or his/her designee.

Duties & Responsibilities


Competent and committed to learn and understand Trademark and patent laws and regulation

Examine Trademark before registration in IT application of ACBR-IP Directorate

Familiar with IT applications

Able to work under deadlines set for all assignments

Assist in filing system and archiving

Assist with general administrative duties

Work under the joint supervision of the manager and the counterpart designated head of the counterpart’s Department

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in law, economics or business administration

Recent graduate with bachelor degree without any work experience

Knowledge of Afghanistan trade and economic system

Good communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English, Dari, and Pashto language required

Computer spreadsheets/word processing skills

Ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment and to establish and maintain good working relations with GIRoA officials

Ability to exercise tact and discretion and to maintain confidentiality

VII. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and sit for long periods of time; regular use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and file; regularly required to talk and hear; and regularly required to use computer to look up, create, and modify documents.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Normal office environment; usually moderate noise level

Occasional exposure to environmental conditions include exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather.
