Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the sole independent governing body for managing, organizing and development of Cricket (Men and Women) in Afghanistan. The game of cricket was officially established in 1995 in Afghanistan. It was granted affiliate membership by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001, associate membership of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003 and full membership of International Cricket Council in June 2017. Afghanistan has its National Cricket Teams playing among top 10 cricketing countries of the world. 


Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for managing the invoicing and collections processes, ensuring the accurate and timely generation of invoices, and maintaining proper records of all transactions. This role includes following up on overdue accounts, reconciling accounts with internal records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Accounts Receivable Officer will also assist in reporting and analysis to improve cash flow and collection efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

Invoicing:

  • Oversee the generation and distribution of accurate invoices in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Implement automated invoicing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.


Collections:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive collections strategy, including segmentation of accounts based on risk and payment history.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups on overdue accounts, utilizing effective communication techniques to negotiate payment arrangements.
  •  Analyze collection trends and adjust strategies accordingly to optimize cash flow.


Reporting:

  • Prepare and present detailed accounts receivable aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and collections performance metrics to senior management.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools to provide insights into accounts receivable performance and identify areas for improvement.


Reconciliation:

  • Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts receivable with bank statements and internal records, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and adjustments.


Compliance:

  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax regulations, ensuring timely reporting and compliance to avoid penalties.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.


Internal Controls:

  • Design and implement internal controls to safeguard ACB resources against errors and fraud.
  • Regularly review and appraisal of accounts receivable and collections processes to identify areas for improvement.


Other activities:


Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line manager, including those related to accounts payable.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance and ACCA qualification (minimum 9 papers) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounts.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop/Online) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and data analytics platforms is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong command in English is essential for effective communication.
