The Advocacy Unit of Integrity Watch is to enhance Integrity Watch’s pioneering role in advocating for knowledgeable decision-making and informed public debate on corruption and integrity. The advocacy work includes projects and facilitation of policy dialogue on issues related to integrity, transparency, and accountability. This unit advocates to enhance access to information, social accountability, budget transparency, accountability, and participation; aid transparency and effectiveness; effective public services; and other issues related to anti-corruption.
The Project Manager will be directly responsible to manage the planning and implementation, and reporting activities related to this project. He/she will build up the current pilot project and identify relevant changes in tools, mechanisms and implementation working closely with SIGAR.
Advocacy plan and implementation
Prepare annual budget and work plan related to Advocacy Unit;
Prepare and update all projects and campaign plans related to advocacy unit and their implementations;
Develop campaign plan related to all advocacy campaigns;
Implement projects in a proper quality and in accordance with the project scope and timeframe;
Update advocacy strategy plan every six months;
Prepare plan for small scale researches and its advocacy;
Produce plan and advocacy and lobbying at community and policy level;
Prepare advocacy plan for small scale researches;
Advocate and lobby at community and policy level;
Support programmes of Integrity Watch in terms of advocacy;
Research and analysis
Comment on the research reports produced by researchers related to Advocacy Unit;
Carry out small scale researches and analysis of relevant to projects and advocacy topic;
Write up small scale research report;
Event management and training
Identity and train CSOs, communities and other stakeholders;
Organize conferences and workshops in Kabul and provinces;
Partnership and coalition building
Build, develop and maintain relations with government and nongovernment organizations in Kabul and provinces;
Attend meetings with government, donors and CSOs;
Build coalitions of CSOs and CSGs;
Project management and reporting
Lead advocacy activities and ensure all projects within advocacy units are implemented in a proper quality and in accordance with the project scope and timeframe;
Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff of advocacy unit;
Carry out internal and external reports to the line manager and donors;
Follow-up with finance department for financial reports to the donors on timely manner;
Produce events reports, and filing of project documents;
Make sure that all the aims of the projects are met;
Report on the outcomes and the performance of the project;
Ensure project delivery in a timely manner and with attention to quality;
Ensure implementation of organizational policies;
Support programmes of Integrity Watch in terms of advocacy;
Any other tasks given by the Head of Advocacy and Communication.
A Bachelor degree in Law/ business administration/public policy and administration. Mater degree is preferred.
5-8 years of working experience in the field of advocacy and/programme;
Previous research experience;
Excellent advocacy knowledge and experience;
Excellent knowledge and skills of report writing;
Experiences of conducting workshops and conferences;
Ability to speak and translate documents in English Dari and/or Pashto;
Excellent computer skills of Ms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and outlook;
Ability to develop relations with government, donors and CSOs;
Result-oriented and able to deliver within tight deadlines;
Willing to work overtime if requested by Integrity Watch management;
Ability to work extra hours;
