About Ghazni Rural Support Program (GRSP)

Founded in 1993, GRSP is an Afghan Local National NGO non-governmental organization with headquarters in Kabul. Active in two provinces of Afghanistan, with more than 2 projects running each year targeting 12000 beneficiaries, GRSP’s mission is to save lives and support people in meeting their needs in hard to reach areas. GRSP primary focus of its developmental and humanitarian response is targeting the most vulnerable men, women, boys and girls who have suffered from conflict, natural disaster, or socio-economic hardship. GRSP’s approach also looks beyond the immediate emergency and towards opportunities for longer term livelihoods reconstruction and sustainable development.

 GRSP promotes community participation and stimulates sustainable and integrated rural development in Afghanistan by empowering the people. The organization’s motto is "Help Afghans Help Themselves." GRSP remains committed to national and international values, as well as to its time-honored organizational values of efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

GRSP recognizes women as a vital and effective social force of development in Afghanistan. The organization continuously encourages the participation of women in its socio-economic, development, and income generation projects, while also strives to maintain cultural and religious sensitivity. In addition, GRSP mainstreams principles of human rights, gender equity, and environmental awareness in all of its interventions. 

Job Summary

Ghazni Rural Support Program (GRSP) is implementing the Empowering Women and Enhancing Food Security project in Jaghuri district Ghazni Province through Greenhouse Agriculture, aimed to enhance environmental sustainability and food security, economic empowerment establishment  in Ghazni Province through greenhouses installation.

To ensure the successful implementation of the agriculture and forestation components, GRSP seeks to hire an experienced and dedicated (Trainer)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Project Manager and other key personnel to design coordinate and implement women’s economic empowerment activities related to creating and implementing new enterprise groups.
• Create and designing agricultural training programs, materials and resources tailored to the needs of farmers, enterprise group (EG) members or rural community members.
• Delivering training sessions, workshops or seminars on various agricultural topics such as greenhouse agriculture, pest control, soil management, irrigation techniques and agricultural machinery operation.
• Organize and conduct on the job trainings for enterprise group(EG) members on greenhouse cultivation and greenhouse management.
• Provide technical assistance, advice and guidance to farmers, enterprise group members on issues related to greenhouse crop management, pest control, irrigation system, soil conservation and other relevant areas.
• Empowering individuals and communities by building their skills, knowledge and confidence in agriculture through interactive learning experiences and hands-on training activities.
• Maintaining accurate records of training activities, participants attendance and program evaluations, generating reports to document achievements, challenge and lesson learned for internal and external stakeholders.
• Engaging with local communities to understand their needs, priorities and cultural context, building trust and rapport to foster meaningful relationships and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders and community leaders to ensure effective project implementation and community engagement.
• Monitor project activities, evaluate progress, and provide regular reports to project management.
• Support the establishment and capacity building of community-based committees involved in project activities.
• Familiarize oneself thoroughly with GRSP's policies, including UNDP/NCCSP and UNDP Safeguarding Policy, accountability, Anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy, Diversity, Code of Conduct, Data protection, Safeguarding, and PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) policies.
• Collaborate with project teams, partners, and beneficiaries to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
•  Stay updated with the latest agricultural techniques, technologies, and trends, and incorporate them into training materials and sessions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
• Previous experience in agricultural training, extension work, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural principles, practices, and technologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools for training delivery and data management.
• Passion for agricultural development and improving livelihoods in rural communities.

 Job Location: Ghazni / Jaghuri District.
