About NATO Afghanistan - Resolute Support

Job Summary

Deputy Chief of Staff Communications (DCOS COM) is the sole asset of Commander ISAF (COMISAF) to directly communicate to the local population via organic mass media. It forms the centrepiece of the ISAF information effort towards the population within the ISAF Area of Operation (AOO’s) the DCOS COM task is to influence and to inform specific target audiences approved by the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and explains COMISAF’s mission and activities to a board public. Thereby, it creates a supportive atmosphere for the conduct of military operations under the ISAF mandate. The DCOS COM is directly subordinated to COMISAF. Technician keeps the broadcast station (studio and transmitter) a serviceable in all technical aspects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support the military and civilian Audio Technicians in:
The daily running of all equipment in the audio section, ensuring the broadcast station (studio and transmitter) are serviceable in all technical aspects.
Operate the desk in the studio when required
Support the Chief Radio Editor in:
Translating packages, reports and news bulletins into English from Dari and Pashto

The incumbent may be required to perform such other related duties as may be directed.
If needed the personnel deployed with in all ISAF AOO

The incumbent provides the highest level of customer service and support to ISAF employees and chain of command

Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as an audio technician in a radio station
Minimum 1 year of experience as a translator from Dari and Pashto into English
Experience of using Adobe Audition and Microsoft Office
Knowledge in radio production and broadcasting at least 6 months or experience in foreign tasks in radio station
Skills in audio editing
Basic skills in electronic systems

Professional education comparable to European education system

Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to take a logical and analytical approach to problem solving

In audio editing, basic skills in electronic systems
