The engineer will be the overall responsible person for the technical supervision and quality control of the construction and maintenance of biogas plants and use of accessories. The biogas Engineer is responsible for the efficient and effective execution of the functions of the unit. The biogas Engineer supports the chief engineer by providing advice, recommendations and analysis on all relevant issues pertaining the quality management of the National Biogas Program (NBP). The biogas Engineer will regularly undertake initiation, monitoring, training and supervision of the program with particular emphasis on the construction, maintenance, quality control, operation, management and reporting of the biogas plants at site/field level by spending approximately 80% of their time.
Propose a proven biogas technology and costing to be constructed in the 2 project Districts (Dara-i-Nur, Salang)
Specify that how to address the generation of biogas in cold climate conditions (Parwan Province, Salang District) and for moderate climate conditions (Nangarhar Province, Dara-e-Noor district)
Provide supporting documentation like BoQ, designs, drawings, test reports, calculations, etc.) for each planned biogas.
Propose an implementation structure describing the process to realize the construction of 40 biogas digesters.
A mechanism to ensure quality, after sales services and guarantee.
Ensure Biogas Treatment Plant runs safely and productively, within specifications, processing/treatment and product use/distribution (gas and sludge).
Ensure that all employees are wearing their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform quality control visits on site; provide training and coaching to biogas masons and extension workers.
Assist in the development and standardization of biogas plant design and appliances; advice on issues related to it.
Assist the development and introduction of a comprehensive quality management system
Assist in planning, implementing, supervising and reporting of the programme quality management system
Assist to develop elaborate manuals on plant construction, maintenance and operation. Manuals shall be appropriate for field use by the involved persons (biogas technicians, constructions, and plant owners). For the approved biogas designs, appropriate manuals are available, ensuring the proper construction, maintenance and operation of the installations.
Supervise construction sites, oversee the selection of appropriate plant locations constructed and timely construction of the right standard and quality biogas plants
Assist to oversee the procurement and delivery of the right material and equipment to biogas construction sites
Daily check on production volume gas, yield, and report to plant accounting.
Inform workers on changes in procedures and instructions, if necessary conduct training.
Assist HRD with operator recruitment.
Ensure from a technical perspective the project strategies are implemented in a consistent manner in the field.
Achieve other activities directed by the immediate supervisor
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable University
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Good financial skills and analysis (budgeting process).
Computer literate.
Mechanical equipment, especially related to biogas treatment plant operations.
Engineering knowledge – unit operations and transport processes, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, chemical engineering.
Knowledge, expertise and innovate ideas on biogas/renewable energy development; extensive knowledge in civil and mechanical engineering principles
Supervision and management.
