Job Summary

The Business Innovation Specialist will aim to promote the national innovations (product, service, or processes etc) that are commercially viable and have the potential to capture local, national, or International markets. It will achieve this goal by helping pioneering growth-oriented entrepreneurs access the knowledge, networks, technology, markets and capital they need to grow their Idea or enterprises.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Critically analyze the challenges faced by the innovation economy to capital access for tech-based (or other innovative) start-ups and improve access to capital for small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMES) with innovative idea that is commercially viable.
2. Build and coordinate network of resources in a portfolio, from introducing SMEs to investors or new markets, to assisting researchers, capital investors, and private firms with successful technology transfer.
3. Organize regular conferences and exhibitions for latest innovations to identify and link them with potential investors.
4. Transfer entrepreneurs' ideas into investment oriented framework and present them to potential investors.
5. Help the Business Innovation manager to critically analyze the government policies related to national innovation and provide policy recommendation to the government for the development of innovation sector.
6. Build network with public and private research centers/institutes and work as bridge for entrepreneurs with commercially viable idea and research conducting entities.
7. Develop and maintain database of Innovations/Innovators throughout the country.
8. Development of Afghanistan as Knowledge Based Society through maintaining of researches conducted through the country.
9. Develop programs to enhance The Innovative Capacity of Private Sector Organizations with an objective of generating innovative economy.
10. Help the Business Innovation Manager to develop annual work plan for business innovation section of Investment Promotion Directorate.
11. Identify new markets for viable commercial innovative ideas.
12. Supervise subordinate for the proper implementation of department plans and policies.
13. Perform all other activities assigned by the immediate supervisor and top management.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

Education:

At least a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or other related fields from a recognized university. Master's degree in the relevant field will be an advantage.

Experience:

With Bachelor's degree at least 3 years of experience in a relevant area and with Master's degree at least 2 years of relevant experience in a well- recognized organization

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English, Dari and Pashto (both oral and written)
