OMID is a national independent media station, main office in Kabul with 20 provincial branches. OMID Radio produces and broadcast news magazine, Islamic, social, cultural, economic and etc programs. Besides its radio programs, OMID Radio has an active online presence in social media platforms, where it publishes updated news and content as well as video materials and documentaries. This radio station reaches over 15 million listeners in Kabul, neighboring and other provinces of Afghanistan. Established in 2023, OMID Radio is an independent, non-governmental media organization, registered in Afghanistan. Throughout its short history of establishment, the station has voiced the voices of its listeners from urban centers and all across Afghanistan. OMID Radio is committed to reflect the truth and be a strong communication bridge between its audiences and government.

Job Summary

The Cameraman/Videographer will be responsible for creating high-quality images and video content for social media, website and YouTube channel in special. The ideal candidate must have a strong eye for detail, a passion for storytelling, and the technical skills to produce professional-grade content. He has to attend official events for recording videos and do more research to find interesting topics for video materials. The Cameraman/Videographer is also required to produce creative and useful content for promoting the radio programs. 

Duties & Responsibilities

○ Capture high-quality images for a variety of purposes including marketing materials, social media, events and product showcases

○ Edit and retouch photos to ensure they meet the organization’s standards for visual quality and consistency

○ Develop and implement a content calendar for consistent social media posting

○ Edit and optimize photos and videos for maximum impact on various platforms

○ Utilize native camera, iPhone editing tools or third-party apps to create engaging and dynamic video content

○ Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and editing techniques for various types of videos

○ Manage and maintain a library of digital assets, including organizing and archiving images for easy access

○ Work with directors to determine all aspects of shots

○ Prepare cameras and test angles or camera movements

○ Shoot scenes according to requirements

○ Shoot and edit video content of our properties promotional materials, social media, and other organizational needs

○ Develop storyboards and scripts for video projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s brand and objectives

○ Manage video projects from concept through post-production, including sound design, color correction, and final delivery

○ Coordinate with other team members to ensure successful execution of programs

○ Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in photography and videography to continuously improve skills and techniques

○ Work closely with other team members to understand project requirements and deliver content that meets strategic goals

○ Collaborate with directors how to capture quality and attractive clips

○ Resolve technical or practical issues in video

○ Setup the lights while recoding the video

○ Record and Edit the video as needed. 

Job Requirements

• High school diploma; degree in film, media or relevant field is a plus.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in camera and video.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Premier and Photoshop.
• Ability of speaking in Pashto, Dari and Englis.
• Operate and maintain professional photography and videography equipment including cameras, iphone, lighting, and audio tools.
• Proven experience as a photographer and videographer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work. 
• Strong understanding of visual composition, lighting, and editing techniques.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience with different types of video content (e.g., promotional, instructional, event coverage and etc.)
