Civil Engineer
• The Civil Engineer will conduct field survey before practical implementation of the project;
• The Civil Engineer is responsible for mapping, taking layout and sketching of the site;
• The Civil Engineer is responsible for designing the project based on the steps outlined in the project work plan using AutoCAD program;
• The Civil Engineer will provide technical advice and technical support to the labors in close co-ordination with Agriculture Director;
• 5.The Civil Engineer is responsible for preparing the requisite project reports as directed by FIA Agriculture Director;
• 6.The Civil Engineer will be proactive in identifying and solving technical and procedural problems regarding the particular project;
• 7.The Civil Engineer is responsible for preparing the Project Final Status Report with the requisite expenditure sheet;
• 8.The Civil Engineer will update the Project Cost Database every week and use this database to ensure the accuracy of project budget;
• 9.The Civil Engineer will consult with Agriculture Director to ensure that technical difficulties related to the project implementation are resolved;
• 10.The Civil Engineer will inform Agriculture Director in the event that technical difficulties are encountered and the steps taken to resolve these difficulties;
• 11. The Civil Engineer will have weekly meetings with the Agriculture Director on project activities. If weekly meetings are not feasible in person, then weekly contacts will be held via e-mail or phone;
• 12.The Civil Engineer will be responsible for monitoring ongoing project, to ensure that the project is being implemented according to steps outlined in the project work plan;
• 13. Other duties as assigned by respective supervisor.
• Civil Engineering Degree. Knowledge of hydraulic systems and industrial mechanics a plus;
• Minimum of three (3) years post-graduate experience in construction of canals, retention walls and roads;
• Good MS Office Skills (Excel and Word);
• Must be able to work as part of a team;
• Able and willing to travel to remote provinces throughout the country;
• Fluency in Dari/Pashto;
• English speakers preferred;
• Paktika residents preferred;
• Prior experience involved with community
