Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project civil Engineer specializing in cost estimation and bidding for projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, exceptional analytical skills, and proficiency in engineering computer applications. Additionally, fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English is essential for effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

Cost Estimation:

  • Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various engineering projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine project requirements and costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.

Bidding for UN Projects:

  • Prepare and submit competitive bids for UN-funded projects, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough research on UN procurement processes and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary documentation and support for bid submissions.

Engineering Applications:

  • Utilize engineering software and computer applications to enhance project design, analysis, and cost estimation.
  • Stay updated on the latest engineering technologies and applications to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Language Proficiency:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members in Dari, Pashto, and English.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations in all three languages as needed.

Project Planning and Design:

  • Assist in the development of detailed construction plans and specifications based on client requirements, site surveys, and engineering principles.
  • Prepare and review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimations for proposed projects.

Contract Management:

  • Review and analyze construction contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of quality control measures throughout the construction process.
  • Ensure adherence to building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to project teams in the field, addressing engineering challenges and resolving technical issues.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to construction crews.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and other documentation related to ongoing projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, costs, and materials.

Innovation and Research:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in civil engineering.
  • Explore and implement innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • [5] years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, design methodologies, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
  • Proven experience with UN project bidding processes is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in engineering computer applications (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, estimation software).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dari, Pashto, and English.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strong commitment to quality.
