Job Summary
The Commercial and Revenue Analysis Specialist will be a key member of Research and Development Unit of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), responsible for conducting economic research and analyzing commercial transactions in accordance with nationally and internationally accepted standards. Proposes constructive and actionable recommendations to improve DABS’ economic and commercial performance
Duties & Responsibilities
Establishes medium and long-term objectives for the Commercial Analysis Unit.
Prepares comprehensive and responsive work plans for the Commercial Analysis Unit.
Develops a standard mechanism for data management, including data collection, accuracy preparation, cleaning, and storage.
Designs and implements both quantitative and qualitative market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that influence commercial growth.
Develops models to support pricing strategies.
Conducts in-depth analysis to find new commercial opportunities and revenue sources.
Conducts in-depth analyses and makes value-added insights for reduction of commercial losses and inefficiencies.
Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provides regular updates to senior management.
Reviews and analyses DABS’ commercial planning process to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Conducts market, trends, and scenario analysis and translates data findings into clear recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
Supports the DABS’ Commercial Department for process improvements and standard practices.
Conducts ad-hoc commercial analysis related to commercial strategies and new projects,
Work cross-functionally with other departments to identify and address issues impacting the DABS’ commercial performance.
Forecasts the commercial performance of DABS considering the internal and external factors.
Designs policies, procedures, and guidelines related to the Commercial Analysis Unit and assists the DABS’ Commercial Department in designing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
Assists the Financial & Commercial Analysis Unit in developing and preparing strategic plans and reports.
Provides regular reporting and analysis to senior management to make informed business decisions.
Assists the DABS’ Commercial Department in optimizing its planning and reporting processes.
Conducts Training Needs Assessment (TNA), develops training materials, and provides training to build and enhance the professional capacities of Commercial Department staff.
Ensures effective implementation of Commercial Analysis Unit’s recommendations by the Commercial Department of DABS.
Performs other duties as assigned by the relevant DABS authorities.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or related fields
Master’s in a relevant field is an advantage
Minimum 4 years in revenue strategy, business analysis, or related field.
Experience in utility or research sector preferred.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and a strong understanding of national and international financial and commercial laws and procedures.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in developing strategic plans and preparing comprehensive reports.
In-depth knowledge and skills in designing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Skilled in delivering engaging and responsive presentations.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including Power Bi, Tableau, Excel, SPSS, and SQL.
Fluent in Pashto & Dari, and good command of English language.
Strong leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
Capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and all relevant stakeholders.
Fulfills assigned duties and responsibilities with integrity and strives to achieve DABS's corporate goals and objectives efficiently and effectively.
Sets a positive example by promoting Islamic culture and values, as well as the organizational values, among DABS’ employees.
