Job Summary

The Video Editor will play a vital role in enhancing the WFP Afghanistan’s multimedia assets by packaging high-quality b-roll footage and reorganizing the multimedia directory for improved accessibility and efficiency. This position supports the communications team in maintaining an organized and professional repository of visual content for internal and external use.


PURPOSE:


• Package and edit b-roll footage to meet the organization’s standards for quality and usability.

• Reorganize the multimedia directory to create a structured, searchable, and user-friendly system.

Duties & Responsibilities

Video Editing:


  • Edit and package b-roll footage for various uses, including campaigns, social media, reports, and partner requests.
  • Ensure all video content is optimized for different platforms, including file compression and formatting.
  • Add basic graphics, transitions, and text overlays as required.
  • Conduct quality checks on video footage to ensure clarity, resolution, and adherence to brand guidelines.


Multimedia Directory Management:


  • Audit the existing multimedia directory to identify gaps, duplications, and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement a logical file-naming and folder-structuring system for easy navigation.
  • Tag and categorize multimedia assets with appropriate metadata for efficient searchability.
  • Maintain a record of archived footage, ensuring all files are backed up and stored securely.


General Support:


  • Collaborate with the communications team to identify priority tasks and deadlines.
  • Assist with ad-hoc video editing requests or multimedia tasks as needed.


Job Requirements

Education:

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in multimedia, film production, communications, or a related field.


Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in video editing and multimedia management. Familiarity with b-roll packaging is an advantage.


Knowledge & Skills:

Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent. Familiarity with file management tools and metadata tagging. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.


Languages:

Proficiency in English, Dari, and Pashto.
