Duties & Responsibilities

The Community Development Officer is specifically responsible for the following tasks:

• Integration of communities into the planning and implementation of RRCC Projects;
• Increasing the capacity of local communities to organize and maintain their construction works;
• Providing employment opportunities to local labors during construction for skills development for the maintenance of the works, including roads;
• Assist the CDGs develop maintenance budget for routine and periodic maintenance- like improvements;
• Set up a mechanism for the community to report to the representatives of the RRCC about the project work during the implementation period.
• Maintenance of low traffic density district roads with minimum maintenance and repair cost is closely associated with the question of affordability, water management practices.

Job Requirements

• Qualified Community Development Officer requires a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), Professional Engineering Certification or equivalent acceptable qualification.
• Minimum of seven (2) years of experience in the related areas.
• Knowledge and experience of rural–community development
• Relevant experience in community based development and engineering.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Fluency in Dari/Pashto
• Previous experience with the UN structures and procedures would be an advantage.
