This is a full-time, grant-funded CIDA MUNCH position. The Community Development Worker will be responsible for the work with communities in the area of operation. The successful applicant will be responsible for community related activities, provide sessions, health education, follow up some activity with community and arrange meetings with the community for orientation of the program, identifying and solving field challenges pertaining MUNCH implementation between the communities. This position will also advise other project staff on cultural issues relating to different communities so as to ensure staff conducts themselves appropriate to the context.
1.Community Development Worker
Introduce the program to communities, community/health shuras and orient the communities on the project scope of work.
In consultation with community/health shuras identify the project beneficiaries (e.g. Latrine Construction beneficiaries, PD hearth and etc.)
Take part at the community level training ( CHWs, Health Shura and Family Health Action group training)
Identify the project beneficiaries
Assist the Nutrition team on monitoring and supervision from nutrition related information ( growth monitoring, C-IYCF, PD Hearth)
Coordination, cooperation with CHWs and health shura about the MUNCH project activities
Take part in the project data collection process
Participate in baseline, midterm, and final evaluations of the project.
Participating to the health shura meeting and other community meeting for better implementation of MUNCH activities in operation area
Update project staff on critical issues, especially any problems or misuse of project
Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.
2.Security
Establish solid relations with community leaders , shura member for gathering security information and be aware of challenges and changes in security and update the team of potential threats.
1. High school educated required, but health background is preferred.
2. Ability to plan and execute training programs.
3. Good time management and scheduling skills.
4. Honesty and personal integrity.
5. Skills in carrying out monitoring and supervision of programs at the community level.
6. Communication skills and knowledge of local communities.
7. Strong skills in oral and written English and Farsi.
8. At least two years’ experience working in community development.
9. Experience in Survey, Research and Studies.
10. Work flexibility.
11. Able to work in a cross-cultural environment with multi-national and international staff.
12. Ability to work in a team environment.
13. Willingness to travel extensively within the district, to other districts and out of province.
Ability to plan and execute training programs, honesty and personal integrity,skills in carrying out monitoring and supervision of programs at the community level, strong skills in oral and written English and Farsi , & Communication skills and knowledge of local communities.
