Move Against Poverty of Women Organization (MAPWO) is a not-for-profit, non-political, and non-governmental humanitarian organization. MAPWO was established in 2016 to work alongside other national and international partners for provision of education, health, and other social services aiming to reach the most unreached and highly underserved pockets of the society and women empowerment focusing on alleviating the sufferings of the most vulnerable groups of the society in different community structures such as rural, urban, IDPs, returnees, etc. Since its establishment, MAPWO has worked hard to implement projects that ensure people’s access to quality and equitable education and health and other basic life services with focus on vulnerable group of society (women and girls).

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of District Education officer and the community mobilizer will lead on community mobilization forming School Management Shura (SMS), establishment CBE classes, facilitate meetings/trainings and conduct enrolment/registration of children in CBE classes, and processing student’s exam results and coordinating the project activities at community and district level. He/she will be responsible for regular monitoring of SMS and classes, solving community level issues and collecting regular data and information from the field. 



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take active role in community mobilizations/sensitizations to increase community participation in project implantation through engaging the community in activities and facilitating the community understanding for the overall project (goal and objective).  
  • Lead on community mobilization, awareness raising, establishment of School Management Shura (SMS) and CBE classes according to CBE policy;
  • Actively participate in the assessments for identification of eligible children for the enrolment in CBE classes in the targeted communities and district;
  • Conduct coordination meetings with the School Management Shuras (SMS) members teachers and District Education Department staff to share program implementation plans and resolve project related problems;
  • Provide regular technical in-classroom support to community-based teachers through observation teaching assessments, feedback and planning of trainings accordingly;
  • Facilitate distribution of Teaching and Learning Material (TLM) and other related kits;
  • Facilitate training sessions for the teacher and SMS members;
  • Mentoring and coaching the SMS members and teachers;
  • Work on proper record keeping and filing of the targeted classes, students, trainings and meetings;
  • Facilitate visits and meetings between the hub schools, SMS and DEDs;
  • Work with District Education Officer on successful handover of community-based classes to the MoE by supporting the relationship between community-based teachers, school management shuras, hub schools and DEDs;
  • Collect community mobilization and training data and assists Education Officer, Coordinator and MEAL officer in reports development;
  • Collaborate on project various activities with project team linked to community mobilization;
  • Any other tasks assigned by direct supervisor. 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS :( MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)


EDUCATION:            

  • University degree in Education, Project Management, Business or Public Administration, or any other relevant field in social sciences. Master degree will be preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:     

  • 3 years’ experience in community mobilization (Bachelor Degree) in Education, Social Science, capacity building, field level coordination

LANGUAGES:                  

  •  Fluency in both written and spoken, Dari and Pashto languages is a must.
