Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO), Multi Location
The Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO) is a social marketing and behavioral change communication organization established in August 2008. ASMO as a free-standing, not-for-profit Afghan organization aims to create positive health outcomes by giving Afghan households the information they need to make informed and healthy choices and expanding access to high quality health products through commercial markets.
From the inception to-date ASMO successfully implemented multimillion Dollar projects in Afghanistan through sub-awards sponsored by USAID focusing to improve maternal and child health outcome through the private sector.
ASMO is hiring the following position under the Assistance for Families and Indigent Afghans to Thrive (AFIAT) Project.
Implements community outreach activity plans to engage community change agents in promoting and distributing health products in target provinces under the direct oversight of Community Health Manager.
Maps and identifies private community midwives (CM) and community health workers (CHW) willing to promote positive health behaviors and convey health messages to women and families.
Contributes in assessing the capacity of CMs and CHWs in health messaging, respectful care and sales of health products.
Provides on the job support to CMs and CHWs on delivering health messages, sales and distribution of health products and commodity management.
Identifies and engages CDCs and health shura members to identify new health promoters (e.g. youths, village health volunteers, etc.) who can assist CHWs with outreach and health education activities.
Pays periodic visits to private health posts to ensure availability of health products and IEC materials.
Prepares periodic reports on the status of community outreach activities.
Contributes to the development of the budget and updates spending plans for community outreach activities.
Adheres to all ASMO policies and procedures.
Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Education & Qualifications: Have a medical degree from a recognized university. A Master degree in Public Health or Business Administration will be a plus.
Industry experience: Having five years of experience in carrying out community outreach projects in health with national and international organizations.
Knowledge & Skills:
Technical skills: Proven skill in working with community level health providers.
Personal qualities: Have confidence and skills to deal directly with and influence local community influencers and gate keepers for smooth implementation of community outreach interventions. Be energetic, intelligent, respects confidentiality, and able to work independently. Willing to extensively travel to different target provinces.
Technology skills: Be familiar with MS Word, Excel and Power Point
Language skills: Fluent in local languages (verbal and written). Have mid-level English language skills (both, oral and written)
Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with community forums.
