This position is held to disposition alerts of the transaction monitoring software in AML module as well as investigate the manual cases, suspicious activities and transactions in line with AML/CFT law, regulation, bank FCC policy and compliance (MIU) SOP.
KYC Unit, is responsible for accurately reviewing / processing / approving and/or rejecting customers related documents such as: All types account opening forms + required documents, all kind of official letters, /removing signatories etc…) reaching the unit through the centralized banking database DMS System Interface”,
In addition to above, the unit is directly responsible for reviewing / processing / approving and/or rejecting the said documents no limited to above during account opening and/or KYC Update process from prospects of AML/CFT & Sanctions controls according to the Bank AML policy, Branches and Compliance Departments Standard Operating Procedures.
This position is held to supervise and monitor Sanction Screening Payments and Reporting suspicious activities and transactions in line with AML&CFT Laws, Regulation bank FCC Policy and compliance SOP:
MIU-Compliance
1. Reviewing and Investigation of TM alerts/cases
Investigating TM alerts and cases, both manual and FCCM timely with consideration of overall qualities as per MIU SOP mostly as level 1 and only on need basis as level 2
2. Managing timelines
Completing any tasks including reviewing and investigation of alerts and cases within the given timeframe and the age mentioned in MIU SOP
3. Quality
Ensue those alerts and cases are assessed, investigated and narrated accurately as per MIU SOP and the required and factual information are available in all narratives
4. Cash deposits
Reviewing supporting documents of huge amounts of cash deposits referred by branches from AML/CFT perspectives in accordance with SOP timely with no delays mostly as L1 and on need basis as L2 and keep enough documentation
5. Quality control reports
Reviewing QCU reports every quarter deeply and bringing improvements as required to ensure that deficiencies and errors are largely minimized
6. Audit reports
Reviewing internal and external reports timely and bringing improvements as required to ensure that deficiencies and errors are largely minimized
7. Results/output
Ensure satisfactory audit result from any internal and external auditors and as well as bringing the required reforms and improvements as per QCU and auditors’ observations
8. Communication
Communicating properly with all levels staff and timely resolving the relevant issues
9. Record keeping/Documentation
Keeping proper records of any supporting documents and emails belonging to alerts, cases, meetings and etc. and ensure to properly report the completed tasks such as, cash deposit, cases assigned newly, progress of cases and etc. to the relevant person
10. Confidentiality & tipping off
Maintaining the overall confidentiality in terms of cases documents, customers’ records, emails exchanged and etc. and strictly avoid any direct/indirect tipping off

KYC-Compliance
1- Document checking
2- Responsible to accurately review / process / approve and/or reject the customer related documents reaching KYC Unit through the centralize banking database “DMS System interface”, from branches, such as: All types account opening forms + required documents, all kind of official letters, adding/removing signatories, identifying source of fund / source of wealth, proper customer identification etc. daily routine according to the bank policy / procedures.
3- Make sure that every single customer document(s) along with the account opening form(s) is/are in Compliance with the Bank policies / procedures and if anything is not in line the document(s) should be revised by related branches before processing.
4- Responsible for accurately reviewing, processing, and either approving or rejecting customer-related documents received by the KYC unit for various activities including "KYC update," "Periodic review," and "Trigger review." Through the centralized banking database, DMS System interface, to access information from Business units across all account types such as Payroll, Private, and Corporate customers. The primary objective is to ensure that the risk rating level aligns with that of the "FCCM-KYC Module."

6- Make sure that all Natural / Legal persons’ names including but not limited to president / vice president / Directors / UBOs /connected parties / and Signatories of accounts are accurately screened against lists in FACTIVA Interface / Compliance link during customer on-boarding / KYC Update process/Triggered review process to avoid opening or maintaining accounts for persons / entities which are black listed or are under different types of sanctions.
7- Communication (Verbal and in writing)
8- Make sure to properly communicate with branches and Static Data Department to solve the customer account’s issues / problems on priority basis according to the bank AML policy, Branches and Compliance Department SOPs.
9- Is responsible to respond to each call and reply related emails on time without delay in proper manner.
10- Record Keeping
Make sure to properly keeping records of all necessary documents, both in hard and soft files incase it’s required for any purposes.
11- Reporting and MIS
12- Make sure all the reports related to KYC unit including but not limited to dashboard and board data are provided/maintained correctly.
13- Passport check
14- Make sure to properly review the accuracy of the passports check performed by SSU
15- Cautions and responsibilities
16- Ensure to have close eyes / monitoring on all cases of AML / CFT & Sanctions within the Compliance Department / KYC Unit.
17- Make sure to support Assistant Manager - KYC in developing and/or implementing of process for Anti-Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing rules, Laws, Regulations & Sanctions in KYC Unit.
18- Ensure to detect any types of fraud cases by and through the KYC team and report to Head of Compliance / MIU Team for further necessary actions according to the bank policy and procedures.
19- Be vigilant to identify and urgently report any Suspicious Activities/ Documents Transactions of customers to supervisor and or Monitoring & Investigation Unit for their further review.
20- Ensure, Customer Risk Rating is properly and accurately performed.
21- Ensure, PEP list is properly maintained in Excel MIS
23- Ensure to properly and accurately apply standards for CDD / EDD measures, obtain PEP approval from Senior Manager or Delegate and have maintain proper approvals for by defaults high risk customers from bank management before customer on-boarding / KYC update process.
24-Make sure to control all documents in file system (DMS) database on daily basis for accuracy and on time processing of requests.
25- FCCM
26- Make sure all the cases related to default review and periodic review are timely reviewed as Level One user and escalate it to Level Two user for further action
27- Make sure all the case related to default review and periodic review are timely reviewed and closed.
28- Make sure the pending cases related to technical issues are raised to the IT department and CCO is informed accordingly.
29- Others
30- Any additional task which assigned by supervisor.
SSU-Compliance
1. Batch Screening L1
-Receiving alerts in Compliance link
-Reviewing alerts generated by the automated Sanction Screening software (Firco Compliance Link)
-Making decision whether the alerts are false positive, true match or need to L2 opinion.
-Putting a proper comment in Clink with their final recommendation (False Positive, True Match).
-Proper record Keeping
2. Follow Up the Alerts
-Receiving alerts from L2 through automatic screening software Firco Compliance Link
-Reviewing the alert’s comment with the required documents needed by L2
-Collecting/instructing the related branches/units for the requested documents or information.
-Putting the documents with proper comment in automatic screening software Clink
