Job Summary

The role of a Courier Expert involves overseeing and managing the efficient transportation and delivery of packages, documents, and goods. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of logistics and delivery operations. The Courier Expert is responsible for coordinating delivery schedules, optimizing routes, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of shipments to designated destinations. Additionally, they may be required to handle customer inquiries, track shipments, and resolve any delivery-related issues. The Courier Expert plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality service standards and customer satisfaction within the courier industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Delivery Coordination: Coordinate the pickup and delivery of packages, documents, and goods according to established schedules and deadlines.

· Route Optimization: Optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient transportation of shipments, taking into account factors such as traffic conditions, weather, and delivery volume.

· Package Handling Supervision: Manage Safely handling and transportation of packages, ensuring that they are securely packaged and protected from damage during transit.

· Delivery Tracking: Utilize tracking systems to monitor the status and location of shipments in real-time, providing accurate updates to customers and stakeholders as needed.

· Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and addressing any concerns related to delivery services in a timely and professional manner.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery, shipping manifests, and customer receipts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating delivery vehicles and handling packages, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others at all times.

· Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any delivery-related issues or challenges that may arise during transit, taking proactive steps to minimize disruptions and ensure successful deliveries.

· Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and customers, providing updates on delivery statuses, route changes, and any other relevant information.

· Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies governing courier services, including adherence to delivery timelines, shipment handling procedures, and data protection protocols.

· Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the delivery operations, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance overall service quality and customer satisfaction.

· Prepare periodic reports as and when needed by the management and Perform any other task as directed by Aeroparcel Operation Director or CEO;

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  

This position manages all employees of the Operation Department and is responsible for the courier & Logistics management of the employees within the department. The Courier Expert may also manage/lead the courier, logistics, and transportation development activities of Aeroparcel. However, his/her main responsibility will be leading and managing the Courier operations under the operation director and CEO of Aeroparcel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and other latest technologies deemed appropriate.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, and regular hours of work and days are Saturday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, this position can regularly require long hours and frequent weekend work.

TRAVEL:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. The position also requires travel to provinces and outside countries.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is typically required for this role and candidates with additional education, such as an associate degree or vocational certification in logistics, transportation, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in courier services, transportation, logistics, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in coordinating delivery operations, optimizing routes, and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

Familiarity with courier software and tracking systems, as well as proficiency in using GPS and navigation tools.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, team members, and stakeholders.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for handling and transporting packages, including hazardous materials, if applicable.

Experience in supervising or leading a team of couriers is preferred but not always required.

Additional Requirements:

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and resolve issues effectively on the job.
