OMID Radio is a national radio station operates in Afghanistan, main office in Kabul with provincial branches in five large regions of the country. OMID Radio produce and broadcast News magazine, Islamic, Social, Cultural, Economic and etc programs. This radio station reaches over 15 million listeners in Kabul, neighboring and other provinces of Afghanistan. Established in 2023, OMID Radio is an independent, non-governmental media organization, registered in Afghanistan. Throughout its short history of establishment, the station has voiced the voices of its listeners from urban centers and all across Afghanistan. OMID Radio is committed to reflect the truth and be a strong communication bridge between its audiences and government.

Job Summary

Translation of documents and scripts from Pashto to Dari including proofreading and quality check. The editor must have a strong command of Dari language at the level of professional writers; since the texts will be published on the website and social media pages. He must be able to understand and comprehend highly technical texts in Pashto as the source language.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Edit and translation of the news, reports, scripts and contents from Pashto to Dari.
2. Ensure the timely and professional delivery of translated and edited materials from Pashto to Dari.
3. Ensure a high quality of work with Dari translation reflecting an accurate portrayal of the meaning found in the Dari source documents.
4. Ensure high quality editing of all texts/scripts.
5. Editing contains literature, spelling, grammar and all kinds of corrections.
6. Using command of language and Dari Language at advance and academic level. 
7. Ensure accuracy in editing of technical terminologies, especially Political, Economic and Business and Foreigner terms.
8. Flexibility in working extra hours to meet the deadline.
9. Ability to analyze summaries and translate discussions.
10. Edit and translate research and other scrips from Pashto to Dari.
11. Ensure all Pashto texts published on the website are translated to Dari language.
12. Provide updated news for the website.
13. The editor will perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

• University Graduate (Literature/ Journalism faculty) 
• Minimum five years of work experience as Dari text editor
• Have Computer knowledge, and proficiency with MS. Office Package
• Understand the key points in translation of media contents
• Ability to quickly catch the concept of texts for translation
• Very good typing skills.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Dari, Pashto and English as a plus.
