Job Summary

The Data Center Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, ensuring alignment with TIA-942 standards.


Duties & Responsibilities

TIA-942 Compliance & Standardization:

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance of TIA-942 standards within data center operations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with the latest TIA-942 standards across all four domains.
  • Develop, update, and maintain documentation related to TIA-942 standards and policies.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, ensuring alignment with TIA-942 standards.
  • Collaborate with architectural, telecommunications, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure that all infrastructure components meet required standards.
  • Ensure proper cooling, power, and networking setups to maintain optimal data center operations.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with different departments (IT, Facilities, Security, etc.) to ensure seamless integration and operation of data center infrastructure.
  • Act as the point of contact for TIA-942-related issues and guide standardization requirements.
  • Work with procurement and project management teams to ensure that all new infrastructure projects adhere to TIA-942 standards.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Monitor the performance of data center infrastructure and ensure adherence to established KPIs.
  • Provide regular reports on TIA-942 compliance status and infrastructure performance to senior management.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to optimize data center efficiency and compliance.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to data center operations and develop mitigation strategies in line with TIA-942 guidelines.
  • Ensure all data center operations meet regulatory and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including architecture, telecommunications, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining compliance with TIA-942 standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Certification in TIA-942 or related standards is highly desirable.
