To operate and monitor all systems and servers under the supervision of Database Administrator, within the Control Centre in a professional and efficient manner. The database Administrator Assistant has to ensure integrity, accuracy, confidentiality of all information gained by compliance with quality standards and legislation, whilst preserving the rights of the individual
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Verify instance status.
2.) Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security.
3.) Daily checking, maintaining and assisting the Database Administrator in the following tasks:
Check alerts logs, Trace files and Listener Logs.
Check configured metrics.
Tablespace usage.
Check RMAN Backups.
Check the user sessions.
Check memory Status, usage and network load.
Check Redo Log Status.
Check to ensure that no objects exist in the database with the status ‘INVALID’.
Check the performance of database servers (CPU, RAM, SWAP files usage).
Check Audit files.
Check the application servers status and services.
4.) Monitoring the Top SQL Statements.
5.) Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users.
6.) Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.
7.) Installing and testing new version of the database management system(DBMS).
8.) Developing, managing and testing back-up and Recovery plans.
9.) Monitor database events.
10.) Provide support and maintenance of existing database code.
11.) Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
12.) Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).
Perform and other duty or task assigned by the line Manager.
13). Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional.
14). Responsible to stay after official time until the end of backup.

Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (IT).
Must be an OCA 11g or having experience working in oracle 11g, SQL Server.
Familiar with the concept Database performance tuning , Data Guard and RAC configuration.
Must be able to work in Linux, Windows server 2008.
Database security, promoting process improvement, problem solving, database management, data maintenance.
Must be able to work under pressure and also able to stay till late after official timing.
Experience in database development is an advantage.
Ability to expeditiously move the process and overcome hiccups by coordinating with relevant task player.
