Job Summary

The Database Manager will work directly under the daily supervision of the Program Coordinator & under the over responsibility of Program Director, work closely with NSDP M&E Department.

The Database Manager will bring strong technical skills to the team. He/she would have solid technical knowledge and experience in the field of database development, upgrading, and management, web development, and in general MIS related activities. Specifically he/she is expected to have strong knowledge and experience of Net environment and SQL Server databases. He/she must have programming capabilities and techniques to be able to work with SQL Server 2005, MYSQL, PHP, VB.NET and ASP.net languages

Duties & Responsibilities

In particular, the Database Manager will be responsible for:

1. Manage collecting, analyzing and exploiting prospect data.
2. Integrating different data sources, and improving data quality.
3. Development and analyzing systems that are to be used by the employees and the managers
4. Developing strategies that are to be used in implementation of software and hardware systems.
5. Looking after the maintenance of the computer systems and make sure that all the departments are functioning properly
6. Collecting necessary specifications for each department and make sure that their requirements are met
7. Developing and managing staff to monitor technology staff and oversee policies and procedures
8. Looking after the purchase of the software and hardware systems and plan proper budget and quotations for the systems
9. Providing training and necessary assistance for the employees involved in implementation and maintenance of the software systems
10. Training the employees in using information systems and help them understand the configuration of the systems
11. Hiring, managing and developing technology staff and serve as an expert in technology consultants to managers.
12. Any other task assign by the higher authorities.

Job Requirements

1. At least a Degree in relevant fields such as Information Technology, Computer Science,. A Masters Degree would be preferred within the field.

2. Minimum of Five years experience in the relevant field of a web development and database Management.

3. Extensive experience in the design, development and implementation of complex and distributed database systems;

4. Working knowledge of system analysis and design processes.

Knowledge and ability to apply computer applications to include MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint;
