The major task of the Database Officer is to prepare a database and do on-time reporting of all project entries and data, provide technical support to carry out surveys and assessments through SMART phone technology, and clean the data received from the field in the KOBO toolbox and update AKF/PIU MIS.
· Assure the quality of data submitted online in the KOBO toolbox by the field team and identify where mistakes have been made to clean data.
· Good analytical skills and extensive knowledge and verifiable experience in the creation, maintenance (including entering data on online databases), and management of databases.
· Identify missing data or odd information and follow up with field staff to rectify it.
· The database officer should assist the AKF/PIU team in adding or removing questions in the HEAT tool, HEAT tool configuration, data downloading, and other tasks related to the database, KOBO, and HEAT tool.
· Installation and configuration of KoBo, application in SMART phone and retrieve data from KoBo and Encourage field staff to use Tablet to record needs assessment information.
· Consult with field staff regarding the confusion or improvement needs on the existing HEAT form and provide feedback to the WERP Project Manager.
· Create a chart, table, graph, and map visualizations to effectively communicate data insights.
· Collect the data and prepare weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarter, and annual reports to AKF/PIU based on the database and submit to the WERP Project Manager or AKF/ PIU.
· Assist the Project Manager in preparing purchase orders, checking and compiling project packages, following the packages with relevant departments based on approved projects, and following up to get approvals and items on time.
· Provide administrative and logistical support.
· Follow up project-required reports with the field team to complete the packages.
· Conduct periodic monitoring of DACAAR warehouse inventory prepared by the field-level logistic staff.
· Coordinate with DACAAR M&E Unit to maintain a database of updated Post Distribution Monitoring reports.
· Supervise, manage, and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way
· Keep and update monthly and annual base stock records and reports.
· Establish, and maintain effective cooperation & coordination mechanism between members of the AKF/PIU, Field Staff and M.O. to interact and communicate regularly with each other.
· Assisting in generating reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual progress on all project activities to the Project Manager on an as-needed basis.
· Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
· Develop and implement proper backup, restore, data validation, and security procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
· Preparing database and keeping records of all sub-projects related data (Project information, physical progress, financial progress, etc…).
· Regularly updating MIS of the AKF/PIU, and other related systems.
· The holder of this position must strictly follow the organization's existing security policies, procedures, and daily instructions of the safety personnel.
Any other activities as directed by the WERP Manager
Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits
Education: Bachelor of Computer Science is required but, Master degree in relevant field is preferred.
Experience: The candidate must have minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in relevant field.

Languages: Pashto/Dari & English Fluency in (Written & Spoken) is required.
