Medical officer is advisor for Site Officer on all matters of health, as he/she establishes a FMU as soon as possible in a new location.
Medical officer is advisor for Site Officer on all matters of health, as he/she establishes a FMU as soon as possible in a new location.
Visits Mine Action sites and advises establishing of the First Aids Post, and delegates responsibility to the medics.
Ensures that all items of medical equipment, drugs are available for rendering First Aids
Ensures that the shelter is properly set up, keeping the prevailing weather in view
Ensures that all items needed for First Aids are available in the ambulance vehicle
Medical Officer is responsible for the health, hygiene and sanitation of his project base camp
Advises correct disposal of wastes
Supervises setting up of SMU (Site Medical Unit) and its equipment to enable him/her to render First Aids to the casualty
Ensures proper sterilization of the instruments, dressings and linen
Ensures that all emergency equipment are kept clean and in working order
Ensures that the oxygen cylinders are full and ready for use
Medical Officer will maintain stock register of drugs and equipment and the expense account
Will ensure that medical stores are laid out in a proper way and each item of stock is accounted for on the bin card
All prescriptions against which medicine is issued are kept in record and accounted for in the expense register
The names of patients, diagnosis and medicines advised are noted in the Outpatient Register
A statement of patients by diseases will be sent to the ATC head office every quarter
Medical Officer will ensure that a detailed statement of injuries is given to the Operation Officers on occurrence of a mine accident
Will ensure that the medics are aware of providing proper First Aids to the casualty and administer fluids antibiotics, ATS (Anti tetanus Serum) to the injured and the initial medical treatment is recorded in the Casualty Treatment Card
Will ensure that his/her medic’s knowledge is kept up to date by periodic lectures
Will deliver lectures to the mine action staff on First Aids, hygiene and sanitation
Will regularly inspect team medics at their work locations
Educational requirements:
Medical officer holds a degree as MD or MBBS from a medical university recognized by the state medical council.
Higher education will be preferable.

Language Skills:
The candidate should have very good written and verbal language skills in both official languages as well as English.
Experience
the candidate will have prior at least 2 years relevant work experience in some or all of the following areas:
