Job Summary

A paramedic who has successfully completed a 3-year course at the school of nursing and has two years of work experience in a surgical hospital or equivalent post is allocated to each demining team on the fields.

Duties & Responsibilities

A paramedic who has successfully completed a 3-year course at the school of nursing and has two years of work experience in a surgical hospital or equivalent post is allocated to each demining team on the fields.
He/she will establish a First Aids post before the daily operation starts and will close only after the operation has seized on a hazardous area.
He/she will provide First Aids to an injured/ill demining staff from the First Aids emergency kit bag, stabilizes the condition of the injured and evacuates it to the nearest medical facility i.e. FMU or a base hospital.
He/she will keep the First Aids bag updated according to the list of contents provided with the bag.
Under the overall supervision of the Medical Officer & Medical Managers, the Team Medic will be required to manage the updated medical equipment medicines on a daily basis in a demining operation site in medical posts, in case of any mine/non mine accident be able to cover the casualty and evacuates to the nearest medical facility. The specific duties and responsibilities of the Team medic will be as follows (but not limited to):

1. To accompany with deminers every day to the field.
2. Be alert and ready to deliver prompt first aids to anyone in need.
3. Follows the orders received from the Field Medical Officers and Team Leader.
4. Maintains all the items of his first aid kit clean and up to date.
5. Makes composition of first aid kit according to the standard list.
6. Presents equipment and medicine on the table for easy access at the required time.
7. Responsible for on time completion as well as taking account of expiry date of the medicine in his Emergency kits.
8. Cooperates and help the Field Medical Officer at OPD hours daily.

Job Requirements

Educationalrequirements:

The candidates with 15 grade as Graduated from three years nursing institute or higher will be preferable.
LanguageSkills:
The candidate should have very good written and verbal language skills in both national languages as well as English.

Experience
the candidate will have prior at least 2 years relevant work experience in the related field.
