Strategy Development, Planning and Reporting
• Assist CMO for preparing overall marketing strategy
• Develop programs with quantifiable objectives to measure results
• Analyze market trends, recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback
• Assist CMO for preparing and managing the overall marketing and business development budget
Relationship Management
• Identify, analyze, pursue and report on business opportunities with existing and prospective clients
• Develop and enhance business relationships fostering existing and new business and heighten awareness of the Bank
Public Relations Management
• Oversee the Bank's public relations initiatives including press releases, client advisories, advertising, marketing materials and publications and online marketing
• Design and produce all aspects of visual marketing needs, including print ads, publications and web site development
• Identify opportunities for thought leadership, including conferences and publications
Management and Leadership
• Build and maintain a high performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching of staff
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize work and balance strategic and tactical issues
Reporting directly to CMO; the Dy. Chief Marketing Officer leads marketing operations, sales operations, product management, partnership marketing, customer service and customer retention. As part of the marketing operations, he takes care of the Bank's media and industry relations, advertising, interactive programs, communications as well as market and customer research. Advertising responsibilities include overseeing trade show exhibiting, printed promotions and electronic promotions such as web sites and social media. He must ensure that the Bank's branding comes across in all media. The DY. CMO will also work closely with advisors, and senior management to develop pricing models, refine the Bank's global brand and implement advanced business development functions designed to achieve revenue targets. Along with the CMO and the Operations, the Dy. CMO will also play a key role in the day-to-day requirements of a young, lean start-up, which is largely driven by its sales and marketing needs.
Intangible Personal Qualities
The Dy. chief marketing officer is expected to build and maintain a high performance culture through standardized or personalized, effective performance management methods; is an excellent project manager; has impeccable communication and presentation skills; can balance product/service strategy and execution of a marketing plan to deliver both well and has a solid understanding of the value of industry experts and how to work with them to the Bank's benefit. A Dy. CMO is an excellent change agent, using a style of management that mentors/coaches staff to inspire their best performance. He also builds a personal rapport with all stakeholders, including the team of chief officers, personnel and suppliers; has superior strategic planning and organizational skills with a hands-on execution style; and is able to align and integrate the department's goals with the other chief officers' goals so that partnership drives growth.
The candidate must have not less than 5 to 10 years in the government, defence or financial services industries with a track record of developing comprehensive marketing and business development strategies. An undergraduate degree is required and an advanced business or marketing degree is preferred. Other requirements include:
