Job Summary

The Deputy IT Manager leverages a blend of advanced technical skills and strategic thinking to support and enhance the organization’s IT environment. This role involves the oversight of infrastructure, systems development, IT staff, and technology planning while ensuring compliance with internal policies. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle WebLogic, Solaris OS, virtualization platforms (Hypervisor, VMware, ESXi), as well as strong networking and IT security knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.   Utilize strong technical capabilities and business acumen to define and guide IT development aligned with strategic goals.

2.   Ensure all IT operations are performed in adherence to the Bank’s and IT Department’s policies and procedures.

3.   Identify gaps in departmental technical competencies and develop strategic training plans to upskill IT staff accordingly.

4.   Oversee the administration, performance, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure.

5.   Utilize state-standard development methodologies for IT system development, upgrades, and maintenance.

6.   Lead and direct IT teams in the creation and enhancement of new and existing enterprise systems.

7.   Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and service procurement requests; assist technical staff in resolving complex issues.

8.   Manage implementation of network and data communication systems across departments and vendors.

9.   Analyze and review hardware/software platforms (including Oracle and virtualization tools), and provide recommendations to senior management.

10. Develop project cost estimates, allocate human resources, and set project timelines to fulfill department objectives.

11. Organize and prioritize departmental workloads and assignments to ensure productivity and project completion.

12. Evaluate IT staff performance and ensure continuous improvement through monitoring and feedback.

13. Ensure IT systems meet defined functionality and performance standards.

14. Prepare and submit regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management.

15. Define standards and protocols for data collection and reporting; conduct trend analysis for strategic decisions.

Perform additional technical duties and responsibilities as delegated by management.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle DB/WebLogic and Solaris systems.
  • Experience in managing virtualized environments and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking and cybersecurity frameworks.

 

Preferred Certifications (a plus):

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Database / WebLogic
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • CompTIA Security+, CEH, or other cybersecurity certifications
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
