While the core of its operations remains in Afghanistan, ATR has also opened offices in Mali and the UAE to support its expansion. 

Job Summary

ATR is seeking a Deputy Project Manager who will be responsible for all activities related to data collection. He/she will be responsible for training and managing field team leaders, field supervisors and field researchers. The Deputy Project Manager for Field Data Collection will work closely with the Deputy Project Manager for Risk Analysis to identify risks, verifying them and communicating them to the project manager. In line with ATR’s commitment to deliver high quality services, the Deputy Project Manager is expected to demonstrate rigour and commitment to quality and to develop his/her own expertise to the highest possible standard. The Deputy Project Manager will report to the Project Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Set up criteria for recruitment of field team leaders, field supervisors and field researchers
2. Developed vetting system for field researchers
3. Supervise and provide guidance to field team leaders, field supervisors and field researchers
4. Provide trainings to field team leaders and field supervisors as needed
5. Set up data collection rules and ensure they are integrated in trainings
6. Plan trainings for data collection
7. Ensure high quality data is collected in a timely manner
8. Design and implement trainees’ evaluation process in coordination with Quality Assurance department
9. Closely follow-up with and monitor field researchers and ensure problems/issues are communicated and solved in a timely manner
10. Closely follow-up with field teams on required resources for smooth data collection i.e., authorization letter
11. Prepare field activity plans in coordination with the field team leaders and project manager
12. Pay particular attention to the timeliness and the quality of the field data collection
13. Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager

Job Requirements

1. Master degree with 4-year experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience in relevant field
2. Experience in data collection and managing large groups of field researchers
3. Experience in monitoring and evaluation and research activities
4. Experience in supervising field teams and field researchers
5. Excellent teamwork and ability to resolve complex issues facing the project in the field
6. Oral and written proficiency in English, Dari, and Pashto
