Job Summary

Design engineer for pipeline networks will be responsible for all aspects of the construction and completion of Pulikhumri water supply Network Facilities project in Baghlan Afghanistan design related tasks effectively and efficiently with client satisfaction and best quality. Design engineer for pipeline Networks shall ensure that the engineering services of the project going ahead according to technical specification of the project and as per approved work plans and deadlines set out for this project.

The design engineer will report to the project construction/site manager.

The design engineer must be an experienced and qualified engineer with the ability to work alone, meet deadlines, train related staff, and work individually and as part of a greater team effort.

Duties & Responsibilities

The design engineer will be responsible for the following tasks which include but are not limited to the followings:

1. Design of pipeline Networks:

• Routing of main networks and distribution networks as per instruction of client ENGINEER using the referenced documents provided by client. The routes of mains will be adjusted if deemed necessary according to the site condition or as directed by the client ENGINEER to find best suitable alignment for the network.

• Develop and prepare longitudinal profile for main networks and distribution with or above of DN150 mm dia. According to the site topographic maps cooperatively with survey engineer

• Detailed design and drawing of water supply network pipelines for main networks and distribution networks including node or system point sketches, valves/ interconnection details, inverted level, house connection details and etc.

• Produce pipeline concrete structures design and detail drawings including valve box details, trust block details, different trench sections, house connection details, pipe encasing details in street crossing and etcetera as required by the project scope and according the project technical specifications.

2. Preparation of Execution or Working drawings:

• Preparation of pipeline main networks and distribution networks working drawings including all details required for best execution of the works in the site.

• Ensure that day to day construction works are going ahead according to the prepared working drawings and project specifications together with construction manager and other team members.

3. Development of As-Built Drawings:

• Provision of as-built drawings in ACAD format based on the actual work done in the site. Any amendments and changes made in drawings as per site condition or as directed by Client ENGINEER shall be recorded during execution of the works and shall be compiled and arranged in final as-built drawings.

4. General:

• Any other tasks as per discretion of construction manager, project manager and EPCC top management or as required by client.

Job Requirements

• University degree in Civil Engineering, water supply Engineering or equivalent in related field

• At least 7 years general design work experience with minimum 5 years experience in water supply piped networks projects with Construction Companies, or engineering consultant’s agencies on relevant capacities.
