Job Summary

Responsible for the accurate accounting of dining facility patrons per meal, ensuring each patron swipes their electronic meal card under the reader.

Duties & Responsibilities


Ensures each visitor (non-resident) to the dining facility pays for their meal or submits a prepaid voucher obtained from Guest Services.

Responsible for accurate cash management and accounting of payments received.

Warmly greats each guest upon arrival to the dining facility, and conducts him/herself with great professionalism at all times.

Assists diners select food and beverages by presenting the current menu choices; suggesting courses; explaining daily specials; answering food preparation or nutrition questions.

Improves the dining experience for patrons by monitoring the dining room and alerting DFAC staff to remove courses as completed, replenish utensils and condiments, refilling beverages, and being alert to spills or other special needs.

Strives to ensure resident satisfaction and report any complaints to the Food & Beverage Manager immediately.

Concludes dining experience by inviting diners to return, and requesting suggestions.

Ensures the prompt and efficient service and quality of all meals, snacks, catered functions, and beverages to the elevated standards required.

Serves as a Quality Assurance monitor and evaluator for subcontracted services.

Must become intimately familiar with the standards of US DoD TB Med 530.

Helps to ensure that the DFAC’s are clean and well maintained, dining arrangements are impeccable, meal presentation and taste are outstanding, and that preparation/cooking/storage areas are properly sanitized at all times to the standards of TB Med 530.

Ensures that all service staff are always correctly and smartly dressed, and that they offer professional and courteous service to the guests.

Proposes innovative ideas, new menu items, themes, promotions, highlights current items that aren’t performing as expected and implements creative changes.

Maintains industry awareness of current trends and makes suggestions for improvement of the catering operations.

Promptly responds to guest requests, concerns, and problems to always ensure complete guest satisfaction. Highly responsive to guest suggestions and looks for creative ways to implement those ideas.

Refers and follows up on maintenance issues with the Facilities & Maintenance Department to protect compound assets, ensure a safe accident free environment for guests and employees.

Ensures that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all areas.

Assists other team members with their duties.

Always endeavors to give excellent customer service.

Fully complies with confidentiality and applicable policies.

Immediately reports any suspicious activity, hostile actions, altercations, elevated security situations, elevated interactions with guests, disruptions, situations requiring assistance, perceived surveillance, infractions of property polices, infractions of corporate policies, unauthorized photography, violations of SOP’s, suspicious local activity, significant pedestrian/vehicle traffic changes, suspicious behavior of guests/staff/guards/guest staff/visitors/vendors/or local populace to immediate supervisor and security without delay.

The employee will be required to perform any other required, requested, or related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the instruction and direction of their immediate Supervisor and the Senior Management Team.

Job Requirements

Requirements, Qualifications, Certifications, & Experience:


Education: Successful completion of Secondary School

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant field

Computer Experience: Demonstrated proficiency, experience, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other relevant software

Language: Fluent in written and spoken: English, Dari, Pashto
