SCI - Afghanistan
Save the Children has worked in Afghanistan since 1976. Our way of working close to people and on their own terms has enabled us to deliver lasting change to tens of thousands of children in the country. The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child is the basis of our work.
We are helping children get a better education, we make it possible for more boys and girls to attend school, we help children protect themselves and influence their own conditions. We work with families, communities and health workers in homes, clinics and hospitals to promote basic health in order to save lives of children and mothers
ROLE PURPOSE:
Assist ECCD Project officers in effective community mobilization for program implementation in the province. She/he is responsible to supervise the work of ECCD teachers/mentors, and or facilitators, to work closely with district government authorities, local Shuras (Supporting committee, PTAs, ECCD Volunteers, ECCD committees, ECCD Teachers etc), and ensure that the program work plan is implemented in high quality standard, and on best interest of children.
Key Accountabilities, Core Responsibilities and duties:
1. Responsible to organize, motivate and mobilize target communities for high quality standard program implementation.
2. Develop and implement all community mobilization activities, and make sure that the community level stakeholders actively participate in the process of project cycles management.
3. Assist ECCD officers in community mobilization, beneficiary’s selection and project implementation in the targeted districts.
4. Collaborate with trainers and M&E officer in data collection process, organizing training workshops, identification of trainings venues/trainees and etc.
5. Support the M&E officer in conducting base line, midterm review or audit, project-end participatory community assessments and evaluation in project coverage area.
6. Work closely with ECCD Volunteers, Supporting committee, PTAs, ECCD teachers/mentors or facilitators, and the District Education Department (DED) for quality program implementation.
7. Deliver the program weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan in high quality standard and provide the work progress report to the ECCD officers.
8. Supervise the work of ECCD teachers, mentors, and facilitators and assist them in the delivery of program work plan.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
1. Education: University/Bachelor Degree is preferred
2. Work Experience: - Total Work Experience: Four Years - Sector Experience: At least two years of work experience in community mobilization and conducting trainings

2. Good communication and inter personal relation skills
3. Good working skills on computer (Microsoft Office) is preferred
4. Understanding of Community Development
5. Able to travel inside Afghanistan/Faryab and related districts, outside of the duty station as and when required
