Job Summary

The Economic Geologist shall be responsible for interpretation, assessing and analyzing the Afghanistan geological information. The individual will be also responsible for planning and implementation of exploration and mining activities. The Economic Geologist will be working closely with the board members and senior management of Core-Drillers.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Economic Geologist should be responsible for the following key functions but not limited to:

Assessing, collecting and storage of secondary information in term of Afghanistan mineral occurrences.

Interpreting geological data in order to select new mineral spots for the company’s investment interest.

Conduct geological field survey and ability of proposing a suitable exploration method for identifying and categorizing mineral resources and reserves.

Detail geological mapping and blocking of an area of interest, based on mineral occurrences.

Leading and implementation of geological field survey and exploration activities.

Equipment selection for field, exploration and mining activities and proposing feasibility studies for specific mineral commodities.

ArcGIS application in geological mapping and data analysis;

Proposing best laboratory methods for rock samples’ analysis.

Developing investment strategic plan for various mineral commodities based on its short, medium and long terms and developing business and investment strategies in close coordination with Policy/Business development manager.

Job Requirements


Masters degree in Geology with 3 years of working experience or Bachelor degree in Geology with 5 years of working experience. Masters in economic geology will be given preference.

Previous working history with MoMP, Afghanistan or other mining sector an asset;

Previous Geological field work experience and knowledge from Afghanistan geology

Understanding ore deposit system.

Ability to prioritize issues in timely manners.

Ability to perform all work in support of the company’s Corporate Values of Safety, Teamwork, Focus, Innovation and Integrity;

Domestic traveling ability and availability.

Excellent English written and communication skills.

Strong Analytical and technical skills

Technical report writing skills;

Understanding and ability of using geological equipments, and

Ability of working with ArcGIS and other mapping computer applications.
