Job Summary

Coordinate the implementation and oversight of the overall activities of Uruzgan Education Program with a focus on Basic Education and CBE.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Under supervision of program manager and technical advisor’s, plan, help implement, monitors and evaluates all project components timely. Develop the detailed implementation plan (DIP) for program and the monitoring and evaluation tools in consultation with supervisors.
2. Ensure that the active involvement of all partners and local stakeholders in project planning, implementation and M&E activities related to the Basic education in formal schools and CBE.
3. In close consultation with the Save the Children education team colleagues in Kabul and Uruzgan recruit project staff and build their capacity by providing them with relevant supervision, mentoring and feedback
4. Ensure that project delivery and procurement are conducted timely and that all activities are carried out as planned within the budget.
5. Establish close coordination with education another programs ECD, GUESTS and literacy.
6. Lead education team for Basic education and CBE in coordination with supervisor and promote staff development opportunities
7. Develop close partnership relationship with relevant local governments (MoE, PED, DED, TED and other Ministries) in impact areas
8. Liaise with NGOs and UN agencies to strengthen the coordination and communication related to project activities/initiatives.
9. Produce and submit monthly activity reports as required by the donor and SC manager(s).
10. Ensure regular monitoring of the project activities, document evidence of positive changes and challenges in the field; incorporate the evidence into Save the Children advocacy objectives.
11. Conduct meetings and organize focus groups with the partner communities to ensure that the program activities are informed by their needs and that the project reflects the Partnership Defined Quality standards
12. Organize regular staff meetings and ensure effective communication within the project and between other sectors/projects.
13. Strengthen education program advocacy towards government partners and Save the Children Members by developing resources and information data relating to lessons learned and good practices from, BE, CBE, other activities in Save the children impact areas.

Occasional Significant Duties
1. Support receptionist
2. Prepare contracts and follow up with HR and Finance regarding payments.
3. Do web searches as requested.
