Job Summary

The Electrical Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical components, materials, and labor required for the company's Transmission Line and Substation projects. This role includes evaluating technical drawings, project specifications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, have a strong understanding of construction and engineering principles, and be able to effectively communicate project costs and timelines with various stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Review project documentation such as electrical drawings, technical specifications, and project plans.

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for Transmission Line and Substation projects.

- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to gather the necessary data for preparing accurate cost estimates.

- Analyze and interpret bid documents, scopes of work, and customer requirements.

- Develop and maintain a database of unit prices, material costs, and labor rates.

- Participate in the tendering process, preparing bid proposals and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

- Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to optimize costs without compromising on quality or project deadlines.

- Provide support for post-bid meetings, negotiations, and project budget adjustments.

- Monitor and track project costs, providing variance reports and assisting with budget control.

- Stay updated with industry trends, pricing models, and new technologies in electrical engineering.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimation Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in Transmission Line or Substation projects.

- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and construction processes.

- Proficiency in using estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or other relevant software).

- Knowledge of local and international electrical standards and regulations.

- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Professional certification in estimation or project management is a plus.
