Job Summary

The Engineer, IP Network is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and administering TDCA’s IP networks and enterprise applications. The role focuses on ensuring stability, security, and efficiency of the network infrastructure and associated enterprise services. This includes performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions under the guidance of senior team members. The engineer will collaborate closely with internal teams, including system administrators, transmission engineers, core network teams, and end users, to ensure seamless operations and address technical challenges effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities

Network Administration and Maintenance:

  • Maintain and administer IP networks, hardware, software, and configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate network issues, including routing (OSPF, BGP, Static Routing, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP) and switching (STP, VTP, Ethernet Channel, VLANs).
  • Assist in optimizing network performance through continuous monitoring and adjustments.

Infrastructure Support:

  • Support and configure network equipment such as WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers (F5).
  • Implement and maintain basic network security measures to protect data, systems, and infrastructure.

Enterprise Application Support:

  • Monitor and resolve issues in enterprise applications to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in maintaining, configuring, and monitoring email applications and antivirus software.
  • Perform basic upgrades and patches to ensure application efficiency and security.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance and security of VoIP platforms.

Disaster Recovery and Security:

  • Assist in disaster recovery operations, including backups and restoration for critical systems.
  • Support the development and implementation of data protection and redundancy processes.
  • Ensure the security of networks and enterprise applications through monitoring and proactive measures.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with network users and internal teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including OSPF, BGP, Static Routing, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, STP, VTP, Ethernet Channel, and VLANs.
  • Basic understanding of Cisco PCCE, CUIC, and Verint Recording services.
  • Hands-on experience with WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers (F5).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • On-Call availability for critical issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with designing and managing disaster recovery plans.
  • Understanding of enterprise-grade security measures and protocols.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science Specialization (Networking) – Required
  • CCNA – Required
  • CCNP – Preferred
  • VOIP Experience – Preferred


EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in computer networks or complex infrastructure, such as telecom or ISP.
  • Solid understanding of routing, switching, and contact center technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of transport networks (Microwave and Fiber Technologies).
  • Awareness of network security at L2 and L3 levels.
