Job Summary

The translator will work under direct supervision of CESP coordinator;

Duration of the Assignment:
The assignment will be initially for 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance at the end of the first 3-months probationary period. After 12 months, subject to a complete performance review, availability of funding; and the circumstances of the ASDP/CESP prevailing at that time, an extension to the contract may be considered.
Duty Station:
The duty station of this position will be CESP secretariat, Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs & Disabled (MOLSAMD), Kabul, Afghanistan.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Translator will perform the following functions, but not limited to:
1) Prepare timely translation of all documents, including correspondence, from English to the national languages and vice versa;
2) Provide translation/interpretation facilities in all the meeting, workshops and seminars related to the project;
3) Draft minutes of the meetings, follow-up on inputs/comments for finalizing the notes, transcribe and disseminate
4) Assist the secretariat coordinator and the technical advisor on collecting and proper framing of the technical project documents.
5) Participate in all the key project meetings to ensure that the decisions are recorded and disseminated adequately to all the stake-holders;
6) Any other tasks assigned as appropriate;

Job Requirements

The translator will be expected to have:

1) A Degree in English Language/Advance Diploma/TOEFL or IELTS from a recognized institution;

2) At least 3 years of professional experience in translation

3) Full working knowledge of English.

4) Computer knowledge, MS. Office.
