Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the sole independent governing body for managing, organizing and development of Cricket (Men and Women) in Afghanistan. The game of cricket was officially established in 1995 in Afghanistan. It was granted affiliate membership by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001, associate membership of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003 and full membership of International Cricket Council in June 2017. Afghanistan has its National Cricket Teams playing among top 10 cricketing countries of the world.
Job Summary
The Event Logistics Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of logistical operations for ACB events. This includes managing procurement, vendor relations, transportation, accommodations, and other logistics for domestic and international cricket activities. The role ensures timely delivery of services, adherence to ACB policies, and alignment with international standards.
The Event Logistics Manager collaborates with internal departments and external stakeholders to develop efficient logistical plans, address challenges, and maintain high operational standards. The role also involves budget management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful execution of events.
Duties & Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination:
Develop and implement detailed logistical plans for ACB events, including matches, tournaments, and training camps.
Coordinate with ACB departments, including International Cricket, Domestic Cricket, High-Performance Center (HPC), and Facility and Turf Management, to ensure seamless event execution.
Organize pre-event meetings with stakeholders to streamline planning and communication.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
Oversee the procurement of goods and services for events, ensuring compliance with ACB policies and quality standards.
Manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring performance.
Ensure the availability and condition of event-related equipment, such as kits, training gear, and technical supplies.
Negotiate and manage contracts, MOUs, and purchase orders related to event logistics.
Logistics Operations:
Manage transportation, accommodation, and meal arrangements for players, officials, and staff.
Coordinate the issuance of air tickets, visas, and travel insurance for international events.
Arrange venue bookings for matches, training camps, and accommodations at national and international levels.
Oversee the distribution of cricketing equipment and materials in collaboration with relevant departments.
Event Execution and Support:
Supervise pre-, day-of, and post-event logistics to ensure smooth operations and timely closure.
Provide event support services, including catering, crowd management, and health and security arrangements.
Ensure staff training and preparedness for effective event procedures and protocols.
Venue Management:
Ensure that all venues are prepared and meet the required standards for hosting cricket events.
Coordinate with Facility and Turf department or venue management if abroad, to manage logistics related to seating arrangements, players, guests and spectator facilities.
Oversee the setup and teardown of event infrastructure, including temporary structures, signage, and equipment.
Stakeholder Engagement and Liaison:
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, government bodies, vendors, and partners.
Act as the primary liaison for visiting teams, ensuring smooth coordination and support.
Represent ACB in meetings, conferences, and forums related to event logistics.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the budget for event logistics, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial policies.
Monitor and control financial expenditures, providing regular updates and reports to ACB management.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify potential risks in event logistics and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with ACB policies, ICC regulations, and other relevant standards.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and evaluate the event logistics team to ensure high performance.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training opportunities for team members.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Track and document logistics operations, including procurement and financial activities.
Provide regular updates, post-event reports, and annual summaries to ACB management.
Evaluate event logistics performance and propose improvements for future operations.
Emergency Management:
Address logistical challenges and emergencies with appropriate solutions.
Develop contingency plans to handle unexpected issues.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional certification in event management or logistics is desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics, event management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of managing large-scale events, preferably in the sports industry.
Experience in budget management, contract administration, and vendor relations.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Expertise in event logistics planning, procurement, and resource management.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.

High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.
Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari.
