Job Summary

Provide nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.

Duties & Responsibilities

1) Organizes and carries out care and treatments according to doctors orders, as well as assist them during consultations/ daily rounds and other medical procedures
2) Ensures patients are properly received and installed in the health service
3) Respects medical secret and confidentiality
4) Participates in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary
5) Participates in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance
6) Carries-out and ensures that administrative procedures and documents are filled in according to the requirements of MSF- and hospital protocols
7) Knows and is aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit
8) Participates in all the trainings delivered to the department and makes an ongoing effort to maintain and update medical knowledge and skills

Job Requirements

- Have a diploma in nursing approved by Afghanistan ministry of Health
- Experience in paediatric is an advantage
- Fluent in Pashto and Dari
- Experience in an international organisation or NGO is an asset;
- Willingness to work during day- and nightshifts, and during the weekend;
- Data management: Able to provide routine data analysis
- Infection control: Be able to perform a basic sterilization process
- Medical stock management and supply: able to manage ward/OT material stock (inventory, refilling)
