Job Summary

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Field Assistant, AFS is responsible for implementing all AFS interventions related to horticulture, cereal crops and vegetable at regional levels. The AFS field assistant will lead the horticulture, crops and vegetable programs with farmers aims to increase the quality and quantity of production, through conducting FFS/PTDs and other required trainings/ exposures.

Duties & Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Under the direct supervision of Regional Coordinator, AFS and Project Manager/Regional Manager, AFS will make sure the successful implementation of planned activities based on the approved YPO.

·       Advise, report and monitor activities, including the preparation of field-books and data files for specific areas.

·       Recommend changes in facilities and equipment to ensure smooth implementation.

·       Providing assistance with data entry.

·       Support establishment of demo orchard, forest and vegetable farms beside watershed establishment in project target area.

·       Establish and maintain effective workplace relationships.

·       Assist on conducting survey, field visits, trainings and workshops.

·       Ensure that the implementation is in accordance with the technical specifications.

·       Keep records and appropriate use of project equipment and tools used in the work area.

·       Accompaniment of relevant partners and line departments during meetings and field visits.

·       To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF (Afg)'s commitment to safeguarding staff, beneficiaries and protecting children from harm and abuse in accordance with AKF (Afg)s Safeguarding policy. 

·       To report any suspicions or actual violations of the Safeguarding Policy and/or Child Safeguarding Policy as per the given training.

 

OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Assist the Regional Senior AFS officer to consolidate program reports and organize regular field visits.

·        Considering donor’s indicators, improving livelihood through providing learning opportunity for vulnerable household in target districts.

·       Perform any other job-related duty assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATION

·       University degree BSc from Agricultural Recognized Institution.

·       At least 2-3 years Job related post qualification Experience in the related Positions with Other Agencies.

·       Strong Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Management Skills.

·       Good Communication and report writing skills in English and one of the Local Language, Dari or Pashto.

·       Ability to work well with others.

·       Good Computer Skills.
