Job Summary

The primary role of Field Coordinator is to assist research manager and is responsible for overall field management, recruitment, training of field staff, data collection, quality control, monitoring and coordination of the field work with head quarter.


Responsibilities and duties


Plans and coordinates the initiation of project implementation (work plan, field staff recruitment, training, data collection, quality control…) with the senior staff from the research department;

Conduct security classification assessment of the survey locations;

Makes arrangements of all the field requirements (accommodation, training venue, logistics, and recruitment of field staff…) before the commencement of the fieldwork;

Recruits, trains, instructs, and coordinates field staff based on Integrity Watch standard training guidelines;

Ensures that field staffs are able in successfully accomplishment of the field work;

Plans and administers data collection, and act as the primary administrative point of contact in the field with Integrity Watch head quarter;

Communicates the day-to-day progress of the activities in the field with the Integrity Watch Research department;

Applies Integrity Watch standard quality control measures up to village level, when data collection is ongoing;

Ensure accuracy, validity and transparency of the quality data collection and to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of data collection activities;

Responsible to fulfil the field work as per pre-planned work plan so that the organization could meet the project deadlines;

Required to share his work plan of his/her fieldwork management with the responsible line supervisors and to the provincial representative of the clients upon permission by Integrity Watch research head;

Ensures that appropriate ethical protocols (CASRO) are followed by surveyor and supervisors.

Responsible to edit the data based on Integrity Watch standard procedures and to make the data ready for data entry;

Responsible to help Data Base Specialist while data entry cleaning if required.

Monitors the overall data collection process to ensure that data is collected according to Integrity Watch quality control measures;

Sets up survey fraud detection measures and survey fraud mitigation measures to ensure the collection of good quality data; and

Other tasks assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualifications required

The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following characteristics:


Fluency in written and spoken Pashto, Dari with good knowledge of English Language.

University degree in any relevant fields

At least 3 years’ experience working in the field of research, social science and survey.

Proven interest in issues of justice, integrity and anti-corruptions in governance in Afghanistan;

In-depth understanding of the social survey research, data collection, and field management.

Ability to recruit, train, monitor and control field staff

Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, and Excel;

Experience in program management and logistics;

Punctuality, intellectual curiosity, willingness to take initiative, multi-tasking, and willingness to work under pressure to meet deadlines;

Ability to travel to the provinces, districts and villages level;
Knowledge, skills and abilities


Good knowledge of the anti-corruption, transparency and accountability, social auditing and access to information;

Good knowledge the relevant geography (provinces, districts and villages);

Constructive attitude and ability to approach work with positive energy;

Ability to work with minimal supervision and can deliver on agreed timelines;

Demonstrate high level of integrity;

Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and team player;

Ability to think and work logically and work precisely with attention to detail;

Ability to write clearly and concisely;

Excellent computer skills, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
