About Creative Think for Change Organization

CTCO is a non-governmental, non-political and independent organization established in March 13, 2019 by a group of educated youth in Badakhshan province. The organization is registered with Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan with 4666 registration number. The aim of the organization is to work with poor and marginalized communities to bring changes in their lives.


CTCO is committed to fighting against poverty and eliminating of sufferings of the poor and marginalized communities in Afghanistan particularly women, youth and people with disabilities. 

CTCO's main focus is to work with poor women because of their inaccessibility to the proper resources and strives to empower them as it helps the whole families and entire communities to overcome poverty. Women and youth are at the heart of CTCO community-based efforts to improve basic education, increase access to basic resources, develop economic opportunity, and protect natural resources. CTCO also provides emergency response to IDPs and other disaster affected people to rebuild their lives.

Job Summary

CTCO is looking for qualified food distributors for its project in Wakhan and Zebak districts. The incumbents will be responsible to fully manage the overall food distribution process in the respective districts and target communities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Main responsibilities and Tasks: 


• Attending the training organized by WFP for the food distribution staff in Faizabad.

• Distribute food assistance ID card to the identified project beneficiaries

• Distribute food items to the beneficiaries based on the final beneficiary list received from CTCO HQ team.

• Undertake the responsibility of properly checking and receiving of dispatched food items by WFP in their respective target locations and ensure the CTCO project team from proper record and documentation of the food receipt.

• Crowd management and proper line management of the beneficiaries in the target distribution points in order for smooth running of the distribution process.

• Properly maintain record of the food items in the warehouses and update monthly food items report to his/her respective line manager.

• Ensures that food storage is done based on the warehousing SOPs.

• Provide training to the storekeepers on proper food maintenance system.

• Regular physical check and verification of the food items in the target warehouses/FDPs and immediately report any food discrepancy, damage or loss issues to CTCO field coordinator and CTCO HQ team.

• Lead and control food repackaging process in the target warehouses based on the specified food ration and project timeline.

• Submit daily, weekly and monthly plans and reports of their activities or any schedules defined by the field coordinator to his/her respective line manager.

• Manage and respond to the feedback of community members regarding the distribution policies

• Address any issues and problems that may arise during the project implementation in close consultation and coordination with the project field coordinator and CTCO project management team.

• Provide full support to the project’s team in providing insights, instructions and guidelines when necessary for improving and enhancing the project’s delivery.

• Assist the project beneficiaries and other community members to access to WFP help desks and feedback mechanism system.

• Update regularly the availability of the food quantity to his respective line manager and CTCO project management team.

• Adhere to CTCO policies and procedures during the project implementation processes.

• Participate in the project coordination meetings in CTCO HQ office as requested.

• Any other duty assigned by line manager

Job Requirements

Competencies:


• Very good oral and written communication skills

• Very good interpersonal skills

• Good MS Office knowledge (Ms Word, Excel and Power Point)

• Good understanding of the target area language and culture

• Be able to work in hard-to-reach people in communities.

• Sensitivity to religious, cultural and gender issues in the local context, and for targeted districts in mentioned provinces in particular.

• Ability to develop a practical working plan for the field.

• Good communication, facilitation, presentation, and report writing skills.

• The ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to work on a team or independently

• Good understanding of project planning

• Very good self-management competencies. 

• Good understanding of humanitarian principles, standards and frameworks.


Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):

 

A. Education:        

·        At least High School graduate


B. Work Experience      

·        At least 2 years’ experience in similar humanitarian projects.
