Job Summary

The Field Engineer for Linking Relief to Rehabilitation and Development (LRRD) project is responsible to provide technical support, in designing and implementing the activities to improve irrigation facilities and activities for cash for work and ensure that the activities are sustainable and has a longer impact on improving vulnerable groups living in the disaster prone areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Work with the Project Manager and team to identify project sites and activities in the villages of 4 districts in Balkh and Jawsjan provinces
•Work with the Social organizers to implement the activities in a technically sound manner and to required standard
•Work with the social organizers to develop the capacity of the community for ongoing maintenance of the community facility developed as per proposal guidelines
•Advise the Project Manager and the team on required tools and equipments for the project
•Supervise and monitor the activities
•Keep in regular contact with the relevant authorities in the district to ensure ongoing support to the community
•Develop the capacity of the social organizers towards ensuring technical specifications of the activities
•Conduct regular reviews of the ongoing works
•To be responsible for project reporting on timely basis (technical part)
•To be responsible for training the social organizers on project implementation methodologies especially the technical components of the project
•Ensure that the gender mainstreaming takes place in all aspect of the project implementation
•Build an excellent r
•Fulfilling all the statutory requirements for implementation of the programs
•Undertaking regular field visits to monitor the progress of activities implemented by partner organization
•Perform other related activities assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

•Degree in Engineering
•Have at least two years experience in mentioned position
•Experience working with communities and NGOs
•Having the ability to stay in the field office
•Understanding of financial management
•Knowledge of Ms. Office Programs
•Excellent written and verbal communication and relational skills, , especially in a cross – cultural environment
•Good report writing skills
•Problem solving skills
•Good interpersonal skill
•Gender sensitive
•Willingness to travel frequently as per requirements of the project
