Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer specializing in civil works for fiber optic deployment. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage field operations, including trenching, ducting, manhole construction, and other related activities. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in civil engineering, and hands-on experience in telecom infrastructure projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution:

• Supervise civil works for fiber optic projects, including trenching, duct installation, and manhole construction.
• Plan daily activities, allocate resources, and ensure timelines are met.

Site Supervision:

• Monitor field teams and contractors to ensure compliance with project designs, specifications, and safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections to assess progress and identify potential issues.

Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure all civil works meet quality standards and specifications, including depth, alignment, and finishing.
• Enforce safety protocols for workers and equipment usage at all times.

Technical Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of trenching, manhole installations, and duct placements.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for management review.

Problem Solving:

• Address and resolve on-site challenges such as unexpected obstructions, soil variations, or equipment malfunctions.
• Adjust plans as needed to meet project objectives without compromising quality or safety.

Equipment & Resource Management:

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of heavy machinery, such as excavators, HDD machines, and compactors.
• Verify that materials (e.g., HDPE pipes, concrete, and manhole covers) are available and meet project standards.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

• 3-4 years of experience in civil works for fiber optic or telecom infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in trenching, duct laying, manhole construction, and HDD.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, trenching techniques, and fiber optic infrastructure requirements.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, site plans, and utility maps.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
