Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the WFP Head of Programmes and team leader/Report writer in the WFP Area Office, the Field monitor will perform the following duties under this assignment:

Duties & Responsibilities

• Liaise, on behalf of WFP, with relevant local government authorities and communities to assess the requirements of food assistance; negotiate access whenever required;
• Oversee and monitor WFP activities in the provinces of respective WFP Area Offices m accordance with WFP and United Nations policies and procedures;
• Support the escorting of convoys;
• Visit project sites regularly and monitor food distributions, construction of labour works;
• Undertake post-distribution  monitoring,  collection of market prices and other available information as directed by WFP;
• Undertake food needs and food security assessments, from time to time, as required;
• Report on project implementation progress, submitting monitoring assessment reports to
• General implementation as well as on project outputs utilizing the WFP Monitoring Tool Kit;
• Provide a back-to-office report based on the WFP Reporting Format. including photographs; Train partners and/or counterparts as required with emphasis on formulation of interventions, beneficiary selection and reporting;
• Escort convoys , as required;
• Perform other related activities as required and requested.

Job Requirements

• Must be a Civil Engineer with at least 3 year experience.
• Fluency in spoken and written Dari and Pashto required
