Job Summary

The Field Program Management Unit Officer Position is based in Kabul but travels frequently to the assigned province or provinces and provides support to the Stability in Key Areas (SIKA-EAST).

The FPMU Officer will receive an annual Training and Enrichment Plan (TEP) with quarterly assessments of assistance and progress from his/her supervisor outlining the types of capacity building and mentoring the employee will receive from the supervisor during the year. The TEP is to be given to the employee for his/her review, allowing for collaborative revisions based on the employee’s personal professional goals, in line with the overarching programmatic goals.

Duties & Responsibilities


Serve as a reporting and administrative officer for the FPM unit

Work with all PMU managers to submit their weekly, monthly and quarterly report on time and with a good quality

Assist the M&E unit in monitoring of the female projects in the field

In close coordination with HR unit develop a tracker to show the leave balance of the PMU and DMT managers and share it with them on monthly basis.

Provide timely and relevant analysis and recommendations on the SIKA activities to the FPMU director/ manager.

Assist the field staff in processing their per diem and travel cost

Make sure the participants list for all of the Kabul based events are in OneSource requests are properly attached and verified.

At the beginning of each month, she/he should make analysis from the planned and conducted activities of the previous month

Get update from the PMU/DMT managers routine activities that are happening in the field and make update the activity plan accordingly

Sever as focal point for a province when one of the FPM officer is away

Assisting the Field Program Management Unit team in achieving the goal, objectives and tasks of the unit.

On frequently basis, she/he will do research on the implementation of SIKA activities at the field level.

Undertake any other task assigned by FPMU director or manager.

Represent FPMU in the gender meetings and discussions

Job Requirements


High School diploma required, BA degree highly desired.

Must have 4 years of general work experience, and 2+ years of specific experience related to the position required. If supervising staff, must have 1+ years of supervisory experience.

Advanced knowledge of Spoken and Written English highly desired, Medium level required

Understands the concept of basic database development in MS excel and its usage.

Have a good knowledge of MS office package

Be able to travel to the field in rear cases

Note: The actual salary of the successful candidate will be negotiated within the grade 8 pay band, depending on qualifications and previous salary history. It is unlikely that an individual will be selected who does not already have the prior training and experience to fully perform at the grade 8 level, or who in some other way does not fully meet all requirements for the position. However, should such an individual be offered a position, the offered salary may be at less than the minimum salary in the grade 7 pay band.
