Job Summary

For the implementation of the project MAIL is seeking dedicated Field Supervisor, Mazar Area Office.

Duties & Responsibilities

Field Supervisor will be the focal point between contactors and OFWM project during construction phase.

He/She will be responsible for on the spot checking and guiding the construction works in the irrigation canal rehabilitation projects,

Guiding contractors on the requirements of the contract and on technical specifications to
make sure the civil works are completed according the engineering standards

To ensure a timely completion of projects.

To make sure the contractors have made enough provisions for allowing flow of canal
water for irrigation, and build temporary pedestrian path or establish alternate road

Responsible for quality of used materials in the construction work, and the workmanship.

Responsible for controlling of quantity of the work completed according to the agreed-upon schedule

Monitors the record-keeping of materials and labor used during construction, in
cooperation with contractor and IAs (Irrigation Associations)

Responsible for validation and certification of payments to contractors.

Reports to the team and team leader on progress in relation to work plan.

Responsible for solving technical problems during construction, in close cooperation with team leader and contractor.

Will facilitate site-meetings when necessary.

Will have a close link and communication with Irrigation Associations, firms and contractors.

Job Requirements

12 grade, preferably Diploma in Construction works/Civil Engineering

At least 3 years working experience in the implementation of civil works projects.

Knowledge of building materials and construction process (soil density and compaction, curing, etc).

Be a team player and capable of working with others in a participatory way.

Must always be willing to go and stay on the construction sites

Self-motivated and having strong initiative skills,

Have good analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Proven experience in preparing reports.

The candidate should have efficiency in written and spoken Dari and Pashto &English.

Computer literate (MS office, AutoCAD )
