Finance Associate
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Associate will be responsible for a variety of financial and administrative
tasks to support the efficient functioning of the finance department. Key responsibilities
include:
1. Reconciling daily, monthly, and yearly financial transactions.
2. Processing internal and vendor payments accurately and on time.
3. Supporting the Senior Finance Manager and executives with financial projects and
tasks as required.
4. Updating and maintaining accurate financial records.
5. Organizing and filing bills and other financial documents systematically.
6. Conducting regular cash counts and properly filing cash count reports.
7. Managing receivables to ensure timely collection and accurate reporting.
8. Performing bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
9. Handling reimbursements for staff-incurred expenses.
10. Managing payroll disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
11. Assisting with all aspects of office financial activities.
12. Preparing accurate and timely financial reports.
13. Undertaking any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA part-qualified (preferred).
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with Afghan tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A professional demeanor, loyalty, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
Personality and Interpersonal Skills:
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- A proactive approach with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work effectively within a team and handle pressure.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
- Creativity, initiative, and adaptability to implement changes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Afghanistan’s taxation laws.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple
tasks and deadlines.
