Job Summary

The Finance Manager oversees all financial activities within the organization, it plays a key role in decision-making processes by providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic initiatives in EMI company. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills and financial expertise. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibility

 Planning:

1.   Establishes Account’s Operating Platform, System and Staff to support the Company’s business/financial requirements.

2.   Implements and ensures compliance with Authority Matrix as applicable to all Accounting and Purchasing issues.

3.   Manages the Company’s issuance of credit, establish credit-rating criteria, determine credit ceilings, and monitor the collections of past-due accounts.

4.   Monitors all records on computerized accounting modules namely, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Purchase Order Process, Fixed Assets Management, Inventory/Stock and Payroll.

5.   Effectively manage and maintain updated Company Account’s by efficiently monitoring, reconciling and ensuring all financial records/ payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

6.   Manages working capital including regular follow-ups for collections, ensuring timely payments to suppliers & handling online banking.

7.   Participates in Annual Budget processes of the entities within the group

8.   Complies with the tax laws and regulations of Afghanistan, ensures timely payment of taxes, manages tax returns preparation, timely filing of the tax returns and assessments with the advice of Company’s tax consultants, ensuring timely renewals of companies’ licenses.

 Report Writing:

9.   Prepares all Financial Reports for the entities of the Group (including consolidation).

10. Production of accurate & timely submission to HQ of monthly management accounts, with comparison of actuals with Budgets and analysis of the variances over budgets.

11. Submission to HQ of (i) the week-wise CF projections for a month on a rolling weekly basis for all the Afghan entities, (ii) the accounts receivables and payables with ageing analysis, (iii) all information as required by the HQ and the Country Head for the Board meetings, (iv) monthly forecasts of expenses and revenues.

 Negotiation:

12. Liaises with External Auditors in meeting Audit requirements and prepare supporting reports for Audits and/or other authorities.

Challenges:

13. Manages and supervises the Finance team, and responsible for training and development of the team.

14. Ensures compliance with Standard Accounting Principles, Systems of Internal Controls and formulates, develops and implements all Accounting Systems, Policies & Procedures.

15. Analyzes revenues and expenditures and identify to the Management, timely trends of the business. Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats.

16. Identifies at an early stage, any major deviation from Projected Budgeted Sales / Expenses (P&L or Cash Flow) and advise Management accordingly.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • University Degree or master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Quick Book Experience
  • Computer literacy essential with proven working experience of Microsoft Office programs and relevant of EMI software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the Company
  • Flexibility to meet deadlines and goals
