The Finance Senior Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations of Bayat Power Company. This position plays a strategic role in ensuring that financial strategies are aligned with organizational objectives, supporting sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.
The Finance Senior Manager will lead financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes while ensuring compliance with local regulations and international financial standards. The role includes managing financial risk, strengthening internal controls, and overseeing both short- and long-term fiscal strategies that support business decision-making.
In addition to maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, this position provides expert financial guidance to senior management by evaluating the financial impact of strategic decisions, assessing investment opportunities, and advising on capital allocation.
The Finance Senior Manager will also supervise and mentor finance team members, ensuring high performance, capability development, and a strong culture of accountability and transparency across the finance function.
This role is central to driving the financial health and operational success of Bayat Power, contributing directly to its mission of delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions across Afghanistan.
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CFO and Board of Directors based on financial analysis and projections.
- Lead long-term financial planning, including capital allocation, investment strategies, and risk management.
- Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, conducting financial due diligence and risk assessments.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Maintain compliance with local, national, and international financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth audits and filings.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships, financing arrangements, and investment activities.
- Optimize the company’s capital structure to minimize costs and maximize returns.
- Ensure the integrity of all accounts and diligently check all balances to confirm cash-on-hand accuracy
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the finance team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the finance department.
Process Improvement & Systems:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Leverage advanced financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP, BI tools) to improve reporting accuracy and decision-making.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. An MBA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership position.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, and…), Microsoft Excel, and other financial applications.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills, Dari and Pashto are beneficial.
- Strong understanding of Afghan tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
